Hoo boy. All I'll say is on Monday my brother and my sister in law took me to the Fifth Avenue Syndicate in the new Axis Hotel in downtown Moline. It was very supper clubbish and reminiscent of a fine restaurant of the 30s or 40s with green plush chairs and a neon bar. Very Americana and the Old Fashioned and 12 oz. NY strip were terrific.

I like America and own a Lincoln and a Cadillac.

Europe appears to be a large percentage of lazy commies passing laws to F over normal people and help scumbags.

I'll shut up now.

Smithers! Another lime rickey! 🍸

“What my cohort eventually wants, although we have trouble articulating it, is a genuine upscale New American art, product, music, and social culture/scene.”

I have expertise here.

America’s cultural cognoscenti have little interest in *novel* artistic movements of great inherent beauty; if someone attempted a new sort of Art Nouveau… that man’s art would be suppressed, derided, culturally bombed, and continually hampered even after making the inflection point toward success.

I have seen people succeed at novel art. It takes a certain type, a person who needs to get the work out of themself. The good news:

If you are wildly dedicated, willing to work your hands to the bone, and *if your art has some amount of merit*, it could potentially succeed.

The bad news: Mr Samuel Moyn will be judging whether the NYT magazine carries a review of your work. Thoughts and prayers :)
