I love it. But.....I'm a solid GenX Honda hot hatch enthusiast. My first car was a 91 Civic Si and I've owned a 99 Civic Si, a CRX, and an Integra GS-R. It's the ultimate Honda. I don't mess with V8s, but am always game to play with Focus RS and WRX drivers on the highway. I actually love the way it looks compared to the toned down successor and I'll never sell it. If you are a Honda guy, buy one. If not, take Jack's advice and buy a V8 Mustang or Charger.
Stang or charger a better bet for the big open highway or stoplight grands prix. In any sort of twisty road or track I’ll bet the ctr is far more of an engaging experience
I have *some* experience running those cars against the clock, they're great as long as you manage the heat, which in a school or trackday environment, as opposed to a club race, is easily done.
I went for a fun drive through the hills this weekend with my brother and his son. I swapped cars for a bit and I drove his C6 Z06 and he drove my S2000.
I know the cars are not rivals of any sort, but the Honda just works better for me. I used to think I was a BMW guy but I must just be a Honda guy. The V8 sounds great and all, but there's a certain overall feel to Hondas that make them special.
I haven't even driven the modern CTRs but I'm excited to try one out.
The 60 year old me would probably appreciate a Type S as well, but he's not going to get the opportunity. That giant double wing and all those vortex generators just make me smile.

Seems if you’re going to track these cars then you need to swap the radiator and intercooler to stay out of limp mode after 3 laps. Once you’ve gone that far shocks springs should go which looses the electric shocks but yeild both a better ride and better handling. Then you top it of with a tune for 360 hp.
At that point your 50l Honda is +60k
And you know wheels tires pads rotors so 65k. But if the videos are correct same driver same day at vir the Honda will smoke a stang even if it’s slower down the straights.
the problem, until this model year, was intentionally tight supply of ITS. at 52k its a screaming deal; add on 10k in ADM, and mandatory dealer add ons, and TTL, and the rest, and suddenly you're asking yourself what else you can get for 65k.
good news, the ITR is now just a regular production model, and by some accounts will make up 50% of US integra sales in the coming model years. eventually, they will start to get dangerously into starter car territory (anything that starts with a 2) and there will be enough that you dont feel bad doing dumb shit with them.
CTRs will always be limited in production. it makes it the better long term buy IMHO, if you care about such things.

I forget the exact particulars but it was something like that and then we could buy whatever we wanted in the game.

Correct. Apparently OpenAI and Anthropic would have to raise their prices 10x to break even. If they do that, their client base would have to cut usage 90%, as (I believe) most corporate clients are scraping the barrel to fund their AI spending as it is.
90% assumes that the AI market is perfectly elastic. (i.e. 10x increase turns into 1/10 demand). I believe that it's hyper-elastic.
I think the number would be more like 99% reduction. Right now it's so cheap that people say "why not." When it's realistically priced, most people will say "why bother."

I’ve got a bunch of old tank tops and sleeveless T-shirts which are wearing out, and I wanted to find just plain tanks with deeper-cut armholes because the normal ones dig in around my armpits.
I tried all the American-made places shown on here and in Google. Nothing like that! Even Nike, Reebok, etc., all look a little tight, even if I sized up one from Large.
But I looked on the jungle site, and after searching for “men’s tank tops with large armholes,” a plethora of cheap options appeared, many even with a Y-back style that wouldn’t make you look like a roided-up gym rat, or a man of “alternative proclivities,” shall we say, but still shows off any delts you might have (or not have, in my case).
They’re not 100% cotton, but they’ll hand-launder with cold water or on a gentle washer cycle, and dry with no heat, or just by hanging or laying them out somewhere. And best of all, they’re damn comfortable, almost feeling like you’re not wearing a shirt! And they can be worn anywhere you’d wear a tank top or muscle/sleeveless T. And if they do fall apart prematurely, which I don’t think these will, they’re cheap as chips!

good news, the ITR is now just a regular production model, and by some accounts will make up 50% of US integra sales in the coming model years. eventually, they will start to get dangerously into starter car territory (anything that starts with a 2) and there will be enough that you dont feel bad doing dumb shit with them.
CTRs will always be limited in production. it makes it the better long term buy IMHO, if you care about such things.

Back in the Nineties I remember hearing that LHD vehicles were something of a status symbol in Japan. That may not be the case now, especially given the QC compromises of U.S.-sourced imports highlighted here.
I think that’s true, but only if the car is conspicuously from somewhere that has LHD cars, not unlike RHD Skylines and Centuries are here. It reads as exotic. If it were something like a Chrysler 300 or a Ford Mustang, it would be a sign of prestige.
A Nissan Murano in Japan is probably just an inconvenience, not to mention poorly set-up for Japanese rules and tax laws.
Similarly, my partner’s 2022 Wrangler RHD—he is a rural mail carrier—isn’t exotic; it’s just annoying. I’ve had to drive it a time or two and I find it irritating.
I was in Tokyo in January. You do see LHD vehicles, but like you said, they tend to be conspicuous (think GWagons, American grey imports, etc)

My understanding is that there is prestige in an American-style/branded car with LHD for the Japanese market, but not necessarily in a Japanese-branded one with LHD. Ironically, when Chrysler exported the 300 to Japan, it was in RHD, which might have been to the car’s detriment.
Some of the American-built Japanese vehicles that are being exported to Japan right now just (which also include the Tundra) sound like malicious compliance to me, in order to address the trade imbalance. They don’t expect to really sell too many and aren’t interested in doing the work to make them RHD.

I would imagine that George Clooney or Brad Pitt could probably show my wife a more elegant evening than I can when we go to our favorite sushi place in the strip mall up the street, but it's something we'd both rather I just do myself, thanks. Self driving cars are like self-kissing wives -- some things are not made better by somebody else doing it for you.
just about the only time i was interested in ai controlled cars is when gran turismo debuted sophy and it was markedly faster than the very best simracers and was able to take nearly impossible lines (like using the grass as a way to make the turn larger)

When GT 3 came out my college roommates and I would build an Audi S4, give it a massive turbo, and then there was some setting where you’d just let it run crazy laps on an oval and it would generate money. Wed park it against the wall, put a book on the gas pedal, go to class and let it scrape its way to record lap after record lap and generate in game cash. I forget the exact particulars but it was something like that and then we could buy whatever we wanted in the game.
I used rubber bands to ride the walls at the Super Speedway 100 Lap Endurance Race in a Escudo Pikes Peak Version to earn cash.

Correct. Apparently OpenAI and Anthropic would have to raise their prices 10x to break even. If they do that, their client base would have to cut usage 90%, as (I believe) most corporate clients are scraping the barrel to fund their AI spending as it is.

90% assumes that the AI market is perfectly elastic. (i.e. 10x increase turns into 1/10 demand). I believe that it's hyper-elastic.
I think the number would be more like 99% reduction. Right now it's so cheap that people say "why not." When it's realistically priced, most people will say "why bother."

I don't think the problem is endemic to capitalism, or that its alternatives are excluded from the effect you describe. I think it would be more accurate to say power becomes tyrannical as it becomes concentrated. Capital is just one type of power.

I’ve got a bunch of old tank tops and sleeveless T-shirts which are wearing out, and I wanted to find just plain tanks with deeper-cut armholes because the normal ones dig in around my armpits.
I tried all the American-made places shown on here and in Google. Nothing like that! Even Nike, Reebok, etc., all look a little tight, even if I sized up one from Large.
But I looked on the jungle site, and after searching for “men’s tank tops with large armholes,” a plethora of cheap options appeared, many even with a Y-back style that wouldn’t make you look like a roided-up gym rat, or a man of “alternative proclivities,” shall we say, but still shows off any delts you might have (or not have, in my case).
They’re not 100% cotton, but they’ll hand-launder with cold water or on a gentle washer cycle, and dry with no heat, or just by hanging or laying them out somewhere. And best of all, they’re damn comfortable, almost feeling like you’re not wearing a shirt! And they can be worn anywhere you’d wear a tank top or muscle/sleeveless T. And if they do fall apart prematurely, which I don’t think these will, they’re cheap as chips!
I’d pay $25 per from a U.S. manufacturer, but there’s no product available! Something that basic for guys to wear for three seasons of the year is something that should make bank being made here! So I’ll pay $15 max without Prime Day discounts.
I sometimes get surprised when I find something like an electronic item or clothing that's still American made!
