Happy Easter! While it’s been years since I went on an Easter egg hunt (it was probably in the ‘80s) I did happen to see this amazing pastel-hued 1975 Fleetwood Brougham last week on Marketplace, and today seemed a good day to share it with all you fine folks.
The 1971-76 Fleetwood Brougham is one of my favorite Cadillacs. They are just so large and majestic. Plus, I had a navy blue Pocket Cars toy version as a kid. It, and the Pocket Cars Continental Mark IV were amongst my favorite toys, and they were almost always in my hot little hands. So…I have a history with these, ha.
And I’ve always loved the ‘75 refresh with the checkerboard grille and quad rectangular lights. But generally Fleetwood Broughams were not seen in brighter colors like this one—Bombay Yellow.
Fleetwoods were much more commonly seen in navy blue, black, burgundy, dark green. The brighter colors, like this one, and Dynasty Red, Roxena Red, Mandarin Orange, etc. were usually seen on Eldorados and Coupe de Villes. But this one—already sold on Marketplace—looks great in yellow.
As the ad stated: “This is an absolutely beautiful 47,220 mile specimen of a 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood in the extremely rare Bombay Yellow with Med Maize Monticello cloth. This color was only offered for 1 year on the this body style Fleetwood. This car was recently invited to the invitation only prestigious 2024 Eyes on Design show. The car looks runs and drives like new!
“I am the second owner and have owned this vehicle for over 5 years. This car is as straight as an arrow and 100% original! Absolutely everything works as it should from the automatic climate control, the Ice cold A/C to the power windows, illuminated entry, auto dimming lights, cruise control and antenna!
“This car has been completely gone over and is 100% mechanically sound! It has a new battery, new alternator, heater core and new proper 8 - 10 Ohm speakers from SM electrotech.
“This Cadillac retains its 100% pristine original interior and floor mats. The pictures speak for themselves and accurately depict the condition of the vehicle! More pictures and viewing of the car is available upon request. This car will not disappoint! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.”
Priced at $24,500, it is likely worth the ask. Certainly someone thought so, due to its rapid sale. These ‘70s Nimitz-class domestic rolling stock are definitely appreciating; long gone are the days you could get a really nice one from the little old lady original owner for $2500. Best of all, it’s a Cadillac.
Happy Easter Tom, an outstanding car and well bought. I am surprised you did not notice that the dealer installed a stand up ornament on the car where as in 1975 the hood ornament was on the leading edge of the hood, as this car has both and Cadillac never installed two wreath and crest ornaments next to each other. Just a little dealer all on, or the original owner saw the stand up ornament on the 1976 models and at a service appointment said put one of those on my car. Still not a deal breaker. I absolutely love those outstanding, some would say Wild, cloth interiors offers on the 1974-1975 models.
Lovely car in the right condition, fairly priced.
