I’ll be pinning this topic for a while. Our normal ACF Book Club continues unchanged; we are about to reconvene to discuss “Master and Commander”. This is a separate, long-lived post for people to ask questions, or discuss topics, or offer suggestions, regarding Cat Tales: Short Stories of Friends and Ferals.
There’s been one unfortunate development since the book published: the white-bellied tiger kitten described in one of the final chapters is dead. We saw the body on the road next to the reservoir the night the book went live. I’m praying he or she had similar siblings who are still with us.
I’d like to thank all of you for buying and reading Cat Tales. It’s become commonplace in our business for autowriters to publish anthologies and/or general-interest car books in the middle and end of their careers. I wanted to do something completely different. Which greatly limits my audience, but I don’t care. I never expected to be wealthy. I appreciate those of you who have taken the leap to read twenty stories about feral cats, as opposed to, say, some Chris Harris book about how STONKING the MEGA FEZZA V12 is and so on.

Impatiently awaiting the signed hardcover version!
Cormac McCarthy said that the core of literature is the idea of tragedy, a theme repeated throughout the stories, so a death discovered the eve of it's publishing gives perhaps a spiritual nod marking the event.
Looking forward to the hardcover version as even Jack finally getting off his ass and publishing won't end my personal avoidance of all things Amazon. After I pass and the book winds up at Goodwill I hope they display the backcover.
