My parents had a 76 and I learned to drive in it. Maroon with buckets and a console. Felt my first boob in it.

They were nice cars, but the were prone to mechanical issues. Friend had one.

I so well remember Ricardo Montelban fine Corinthian Lester adds. If

Memory serve there were crashing waves in the background meaning the car was turning to dust as the filmed.

A teacher had one it was a few years old and there were holes in the top of the fenders.

Cool car though.

IMO the ultimate 77 luxo barge has to be the coupe deville with goose down stiffed leather seats.

Herb Tarlek? I'm sorry, but there is just one man who can be associated with so fine an automobile: Ricardo Montelbaum.

As the owner of a '76 Charger SE, I approve.

If you watch all the commercials on YouTube, as only a car savant like me would do, Montalban variably says “soft”, “fine”, and yes, even “rich” to describe the Corinthian leather. “Rich” was spoken in the introduction of the face lifted 1978 model.

Maybe it was the brochures that said 'soft.' I have the brochures but haven't seen many of the videos--and never when the cars were new, I didn't exist yet, lol.

I was mistaken..it was the intro for the 2nd gen cordoba in 1980. He even strokes it in the ad: https://youtu.be/uvyTTx33PPQ?si=pNPGxDfLz4TknPlz

One of the few memories I have of my Grandfather was riding in his triple black 76 Cordoba. Nice traveling down memory lane with this article. He later traded it in on an white on blue 84 Fifth Ave shortly before he died. My Grandmother kept that 5th Ave until 86 when it was traded in on a baby blue 86 Lebaron GTS Turbo.

I haven’t seen one of these in over 35 years.
