Thx for linking to Craighead’s book. Thought it was permanently blocked from publication by the UK Ministry of Defence. Glad it’s finally coming out. Thank you for the heads up!
The UK is actively persecuting the SAS and SBS and their feeder units the paras and Royal marine commandos. Literally their best men, the gold standard for the world’s special operations forces. I don’t think the UK wants these men around to stop the muslim takeover
More to read on Wes - when I’m not on the company clock. Golden. I’m still breathlessly waiting on your story about my Baja horseback riding companion that you told us you would share a few weeks ago…..
Jeeze Jack. You wasted a lot of text on that guy. I didn’t even know who he was until you wrote about him. I mean, I guess it’s good because now I know he’s a giant boob. That’s the upside, the downside is now I know who he is. I even looked him up and unfortunately now I can’t un-see him. Are you sure it was right to waste an entire sub-stack on this clown nose? Just saying that this, in someways, gives him the thing that he craves whether or not it’s good or bad: attention.
(truth be told, I didn’t read this entire article. I just couldn’t get past the stupidity part.)
This is a valid criticism. We all only have so much time each day to tilt against windmills. How to pick the best ones? So many dipshits, so little time.
I don't like the guy railing against Subarus, and I don't really like Subarus. I could hate em both, but I don't care enough to bother with any of it.
"You don’t need to read it; I’ll cover the Top Five Stupidities below."
Thank you for that. For a brief moment I was as afraid of having to click on that as Wes is of Subie tow hooks.
I live in the Subaru capital of Michigan. You know what I haven't seen? Massive piles of dead Subie drivers killed by mistaking their tow points for recovery points on their Outbacks, Crosstreks, Foresters, and Ascents. Instead, they pull out in front of you and drive 5 under the speed limit, making you wish the piles of dead Subie drivers was a reality.
Has he ever driven a Subaru in snow? My 93 Impreza was great in it, even on cheap-ass Walmart all-seasons. My 04 Outback was even better.
It’s funny how Subaru has two group of customers that are totally opposite of each other. The liberal, crunchy boomers with the Coexist stickers and the vaping, flat brimmers with Rally Armor mudflaps.
A neighbor took his new Crosstrek, the butch one with the EXTRA lift and plastic cladding, to the boat ramp to launch his small fishing boat, but forgot to put his car in Park.
He learned that the extra lift made no difference, and that Subarus don’t float. It was totaled.
I remember watching someone total a brand-new bright-yellow 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty launching a boat that same way, when I was a kid. It was an eye-opening experience.
I love the B but they kinda wiffed the joke using legacy wagons instead of aForester given Subaru’s WRC heritage. My son and I competed in a Rallycross last month in his free 1996 legacy wagon. There were quite a few old Subaru’s being beaten on and quite a few guys with beards (no not those) and flat brimmed hats.
The real issue is I want the smallest non luxury SUV with decent engine that's not a barge. Our CX5 is just a tad too small but I don't want a Highlander. Outback or Sorento might be the right size
I liked his line “But, Subaru provides its owners no safe way to get its vehicles unstuck….”
This would logically mean that there would be Subarus in roadside ditches across the USA because, of course, no tow truck driver would be willing to tow them, since it’s unsafe.
I also hate Subarus, but it’s mostly related to how terrible and intrusive their driver nannies are and how incessantly they beep at you when you’re driving. Wes probably loves it.
I just wonder how the EyeSight camera-based adaptive cruise control works versus a system that primarily uses millimeter-wave radar that is augmented by a camera.
My guess is that if you’re driving east or west during the morning or evening commutes during specific times of the year, you’re not going to have it, or any of the other ADAS stuff, because the camera is going to be blown out by the sun!
Hmm..Seattle is our biggest market in the U.S…it’s cloudy there 330 days out of the year..we can save money by a visual-only ADAS setup! 💁♂️
Jack, you are, it is easy to determine, a very bright guy and incisive observer. Don't you have better things to do then spend at least some time composing a piece on someone who appears to be relatively harmless and as far as this unassuming male is concerned, relatively unknown as well?
Every time you write an article about this dweeb, I click his Instagram account, wonder if his man jawed wife is actually a man and how the hell do 24k people follow him.
It's post-2020, and many of those "are they a...?" cats are out of the bag, so this is a fair question, and one I had as well, but after while, I'm tired of trying to figure out if their wife is really their handler or not. I hope it's at least a good relationship--plenty out there that aren't.
OK, I get it but my wife's cousin was the Mayor of Santa Monica, CA which makes her (the cousin, not my wife) probably as well know, maybe even better known, than someone who was briefly a candidate for the Montana State Senate. Besides, does this person write for the Washington Examiner as you do, a publication I would deem significantly greater in import than Outside Magazine? No, not a word. What I am saying here, amigo, is that it would seem you would have bigger fish to fry.
Perhaps, but there's no harm in occasionally coal-raking folks like this. You would be surprised how effective their grift can be -- I had to personally intervene twice to keep my former employer from making Casey Putsch a multi millionaire.
That was the question that came to my mind: if that one was the one who tried to become Senator, or if that was another Count Cuckola (think Bierhallenputsch).
Also Wes Zoolander venturing to recover Peterman from the mall, only to have to be bailed out by Mommy (Elaine) would make for a cracking episode.
no. viscously and publicly beating noteworthy offenders with a proverbial crowbar is absolutely necessary to teach people manners. it had already blown up on teh interwebz so he wasnt magnifying some obscure hot take.
Replace "Subaru" with "Republican" and "Wes Siler" with "mainstream media" and you have the same hysterical narrative-shaping agenda that, unfortunately, captures millions and millions of people. Ironically I suspect many own Subarus.

EDIT: I'm a native Detroiter and I probably have stronger ties to NYC than most of those folks. My father was from Brooklyn (though he was apparently born in a Manhattan hospital) and we travelled to NY frequently to see his cousins as well as a cousin on my mother's side. My older sister has lived in NYC since she was married and my younger sister lived in suburban New Jersey for years. My mother would joke that my dad would come home from work and say, "Pauline, get the kids ready, we're going to New York." It's been rare that I haven't been in NYC in any 12 month period in my life. The opening of Interstate 80 was an occasion of great celebration in my home as it took a few hours off of driving through Canada. The downside was that we didn't get to see Niagara Falls as often. How many of Mamdani's voters can say they've been to Cooperstown?
A forty something married woman, who is still getting support checks from her parents on the regular.
Forget all of her commie rants; how could any sane voter look at that and think to themselves "there's someone I want to have in charge of the public fisc of the tenth largest city in the USA!"

western civilization is doomed
we can pull out of the tailspin but a shitload of people gotta die for it to work
Great thing is they deserve to die. See UK Rape Gang Inquiry Report for more details.

You have not met my niece that went to Berkeley and was repeatedly told she was the smartest person in the room.

We supply the bread. Jack provides the circus. That’s the way this works.
And then you pick the circus acts you want to watch.
not my circus, not my monkey. I'm just the head clown

No one forced anyone else to read this nor think about Subarus .
-Nate
I was waiting for someone to call me out. Glad it was you. Yes, I did care. ;-)
Caring is never a bad thing no matter how much it scares the alt-righties .
In fact it's up there with it always being a good idea to buy a Motocycle .
-Nate
(who likely will never again buy a Motocycle)
Yes! It was funny.
Here’s a video of Wes interacting with a bear on a kayak trip.
https://youtu.be/4_RAq5ybC68?is=jZNsQQ-oE2vUxENn
Odds of this being gay porn? 50/50
Fingers crossed!
I assumed it was this clip
https://youtu.be/OLmQTIS9Rv4
in either case its not about the hunting
Do you need assistance??
That just pissed the bear off!
If it’s not AI, not their best Kodiak moment! 📸

And zero of them are anywhere near as attractive as the blonde in that AI video.
The old folks love, love, love their fridge white and ice blue Foresters, for the hip angle I suppose.
A neighbor took his new Crosstrek, the butch one with the EXTRA lift and plastic cladding, to the boat ramp to launch his small fishing boat, but forgot to put his car in Park.
He learned that the extra lift made no difference, and that Subarus don’t float. It was totaled.
fuckin RIP
Funny part is he is a car guy with a Plum Crazy purple Challenger. He just brain cramped like we all do.
Wyatt, THAT’ll hit you right in the feelz!
I remember watching someone total a brand-new bright-yellow 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty launching a boat that same way, when I was a kid. It was an eye-opening experience.

So the lesbian stereotype Subie owner thing is on the wane?
I'm actually looking at a new outback. If I buy one I'm neither of those things.
Research their reliability
The real issue is I want the smallest non luxury SUV with decent engine that's not a barge. Our CX5 is just a tad too small but I don't want a Highlander. Outback or Sorento might be the right size
If you want to get away from the turbo four pots, honda passport? They keep fixing their weaknesses and they'll get you to the trailhead well.
are you sure you are talking about Subaru? I ask because you did not mention is most fervently loyal customers: lesbians.
I liked his line “But, Subaru provides its owners no safe way to get its vehicles unstuck….”
This would logically mean that there would be Subarus in roadside ditches across the USA because, of course, no tow truck driver would be willing to tow them, since it’s unsafe.
I’m really tired of stupid people with opinions.
👏👏👏👏
then you probably ought to stop spending time online. stupid people with opinions are the fuel that keeps the internet going.
Agreed. I am not online much these days. ACF is the exception.
I'm well pleased you make an exception for me here guys =8-) .
-Nate
I also hate Subarus, but it’s mostly related to how terrible and intrusive their driver nannies are and how incessantly they beep at you when you’re driving. Wes probably loves it.
svx drivers were never like that!
that was a weird car even by the standards of Subaru. I kinda love them, though I know nothing about them
I remember and admire the SVX! I never got a chance to drive one, but I'm glad we live in a world where they existed.
Wes is into safetyism.
his safe word is osha compliant
I just let my wife know that is my new safeword. Way better than Aristophanes.
I've learned that "mephistopheles" is not a good choice either...
whats that honey? all i heard was mmmfmf mmm mfff mfmfmftt youre going to have to annunciate
I genuinely laughed at this
I'm going to remember and use "OSHA COMPLIANT" .
-Nate
OSHA is not strict enough...
I think you can get OSHA-compliant black leather boots.
I just wonder how the EyeSight camera-based adaptive cruise control works versus a system that primarily uses millimeter-wave radar that is augmented by a camera.

What those tow hooks will do is screw up the bumper of anyone unfortunate to be next to one of those idiots when they parallel park by feel.
Edit: He was making a Dick Cheney joke, right?
Laughing my ass off, Jack, you are a national treasure
It's like a real life reddit post
Everyone clapped.
Jack, you are, it is easy to determine, a very bright guy and incisive observer. Don't you have better things to do then spend at least some time composing a piece on someone who appears to be relatively harmless and as far as this unassuming male is concerned, relatively unknown as well?
You must be new here.
Au contraire, amigo, au contraire!!
I quite literally pay him to do this. So no.
ayyyyy lmao, as we used to say.
Insert Flame emoji here.
Yeah Jack v Auto Journalists is always fun.
No, you don't, amigo, you pay for the privilege of reading what he writes.
Id say i pay 60% for the comment section 40% for what jack writes. No diss on jack, id probably still pay but the comments make it an easy choice
GOD BLESS US ALL, EVERY (COMMENTING) ONE
ACF: Come for the writing, stay for the comments.
Definitely here for the wireing
*incredibly loud incorrect buzzer*
genuine laugh
"as far as this unassuming male is concerned, relatively unknown as well?"
This speaks well of you, but Siler is far better known than I am. He was briefly a candidate for Montana State Senate!
Every time you write an article about this dweeb, I click his Instagram account, wonder if his man jawed wife is actually a man and how the hell do 24k people follow him.

In our last Wes Siler sighting he was talking about taking damaged trans kids into the desert otherwise I probably never would have thought about it
Chinese bots are cheap. It's an old trick and a lot of losers do it so they look like they're important.
I kinda figured. He is exactly the type to buy followers
Always fair to punch upward.

Also Wes Zoolander venturing to recover Peterman from the mall, only to have to be bailed out by Mommy (Elaine) would make for a cracking episode.
So... I looked this up. He DROPPED OUT of the Senate race rather than file a financial disclosure.
So much for "I'LL FIGHT FOR MONTANA ON THE BEACHES"
Did you see this:

Pure cringe.
He realized that Jon Alain Guzik would publicly clown him for the next 20 years for being a complete jobless pimple on his wife's ass.
Wow, that shit show keeps getting worse the longer you watch. They're all “frenemies” of Fat Brad?
wait, what? seriously?
This is one of the things Jack does best, read it and enjoy.
If wes wants the beatings to stop, he can subscribe to the trackday club.

Back in the 80’s when Charlie Royer was mayor, Seattle was held up as a model of good municipal governance. Charlie must be rolling in his grave.
A dorky guy who doesn't work and is obsessed with ALPHA MALES. Sounds familiar.
wait a sec
someone draw a parallel between monster trucks subarus and the legal definition of an off road vehicles
lmao. Best read of the month.

I would agree with you except for one important thing: I'm not sure Wes knows who Dick Cheney is. That's ancient history, like 4WD Subaru XT Turbos!
And everyone knows Canadian Policewomen are the ones to really avoid.
why was a rabbi walking out of a pornhub office anyway
regardless the moral of the story is women dont make good cops

Subaru’s high point was the SVX
Among the SVX's flaws was a propensity for catastrophic automatic transmission failure. That's the one that sent most of them to the junk yard. Ironically, the only thing Subaru did well after the OHV engines were cancelled was make planetary automatic transmissions. The exception being the one in the SVX.
is it possible to rip out the engine and trans and drop in an LS? I mean, isn't that the answer to everything?
or just put in a subaru 6 speed and call it a day
Agreed! My father drove all sorts of Subarus for over twenty five years, probably late seventies to end of nineties or thereabouts. They were hugely popular in Switzerland! In the end, he had four (!!) SVXs (one after another of course, as his company cars - they were exchanged after the lease was up). All Subarus were excellent on reliability.
