Weekly Roundup: That's How We Roll Edition

Today was a big motorcycling day for me; I got the VFR800 and CB550 cleaned up, filled up, and loaded with Sta-Bil for the winter. This was probably the last day we'll have over 50 degrees in Ohio this year so I felt lucky to have just about enough leg function to make it all happen. The CB1100 will be the last one to the put into storage mode and the first one out, so I used it to run errands around Columbus.
What you see in front of you, however, is my real set of wheels for the next few months. I'll be using it to try to get my left leg to extend and bend all the way again. I have it in the stereo room so I can crank up some tunes and read while I do it. Luckily, I have 87 days until my next race, so there's plenty of time to come up to speed.
Speaking of coming up to speed... What did Bark and I put out there for the holiday week?
Although I submitted both parts of my "Selective History Of Compact Trucks" to TTAC this week, Mark Stevenson's decision to use Thursday as a "clip show" day meant that only Part One made it into the wild. Not to worry; two of my recent contributions were part of the clip show, so I can't complain about being under-represented.
At R&T, I contributed an opinion piece about BMW's move to front-wheel-drive for its entry-level cars. It's spurred some discussion, to be sure.
Bark has a few things in the hopper at R&T, but his sole publication this week was about exotic car dealers in Miami. It's interesting to see some of the readers complain that Bark's experience of the luxury market doesn't match their own preconceptions and/or imaginations. Having said that, let me say that a Wraith without the Starlight headliner is hardly a Wraith at all. At least in my experience.
We'll have more for you next week. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have one particular piece of Black Friday shopping I need to do for myself. It involves horsehide, of course.
