I would argue the democratic socialists could care less about Americans and their jobs. This is always why Bernie is a joke, because if he was a REAL socialist, he'd be up in arms about the immigration and H1b shit. But he's fake as they all are.
Socialism can exist in a capitalist system, ironically, but the other way around never works. None of these people understand that socialist countries have net 0 immigration. Even the soviets understood it and understood national identity.

Blackbird- It seems to me that they may actually be refurbing or tearing into that SR-71 to get a better feel for what the SR-72 should be. I had read a rumor or two that the 72 may actually be much closer than we were led to believe... I just don't know much about aviation if I'm being honest. Regardless, it's exciting. I want to see something fast as hell flying.
Origin- There hasn't been a company in my lifetime that is just so committed to making things in the USA so fully. Not only that, but they make GOOD PRODUCT. It's not just cheap stuff wrapped in the flag to sell it.
Speaking of which, you know my history working with the Chinese. They are everything you say and more. It always turned out their one child policy extended to their employees too as I was never going to make enough money to support more than one working with them.
The people who talk about vertical integration are idiots. The companies are run by family cartels who use discount fasteners their uncle makes on a dirt floor in a nothing village. Every building and company is owned at least partially by the CCP and you can bet they'll pull strings when they want to in order to present a brave face to the world. Never believe the worker conditions or population figures the CCP shovels out.
In 1992 I bought a ‘88 944 MT off the used car lot of the Nissan dealer in Bel Air, MD. Paid about $10K for it. Loved that car, even if I paid about $6K in service and maintenance in the four years I owned it. Took it on our wedding trip up to Maine even though it had a bad flywheel sensor and would refuse to start (infrequently). My current ‘15 Mazda3 MT would blow its doors off. When I tried to reconnect the radio antenna I removed the console and found a bag of cocaine. Good thing this was before they started bringing drug dogs into schools, or I would’ve had some ‘splaining to do (I taught HS music).

How much do the F1 teams at McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Ferrari really interact with the road car sides of those companies? It seems to me that for all the "racing improves production cars" that's expressed or implied, the F1 teams are pretty much siloed off from the actual car companies.
I'd hazard a guess that Space X engineers may interact more with their counterparts at Tesla than those at any F1 team interact with those at their parent car company.

Hadjar's good performance in the same car makes me think the Red Bull is easier to drive than it was at the beginning of the season.
It just occurred to me that having a driver with Verstappen's outlying skills might impede the development of the car, since he can wring a decent performance out of a non-competitive car.
