Time, You've Been Erasing
I borrowed Glen Hansard's Rhythm and Repose from the library on Monday and was absolutely enchanted by it. Strictly speaking, Glen's voice is a couple steps lower than mine so I don't necessarily have the capability to sing his stuff in the original key. That didn't stop me from trying, as you see above...
And here's Glen singing it.
Isn't he handsome? Why couldn't I have been born handsome, instead of brilliant? It also would have been nice to have been a baritone instead of a tenor. You don't lose your range as you get older if you're a baritone. There are maybe four solid notes I can't get any more that used to be easy as pie for me to reach. I used to be able to sing everything Philip Baley sang on the EWF albums. Not. Any. More.
Patrick also wanted to play something, so he chose this PJ Harvey/Thom Yorke collaboration, "This Mess We're In". I don't know why the camera isn't focused on him, he's the one who pointed it, I think.
Here's the same song covered by some more famous people whom I think are on television, at least in the UK:
I wish I'd thought of doing a recorder solo!
Okay, that's all the silliness for now. See you next time!
