Thursday Night Video!
Sharp-eyed viewers will notice that there's a new Carvin bass in town. And to commemorate its arrival --- about which more tomorrow, since the UPS guy arrived after the sunlight for photos --- we played one of my original songs, along with the Ocean Fade Private Stock.
The song is called "How I've Waited". I wrote it when I was stuck out of town on a trip that been one bummer, problem, and misunderstanding after another, culminating with a pretty awful on-track mechanical incident. I could definitely feel my chronic manic depression shifting into "D", so to speak. After some completely inebriated consideration, I decided that the best thing to do would be to call someone and ask them to fly across the country on four hours' notice to have a late dinner with me. "I'll split the airfare with you," I said, in a gesture of what I felt at the time to be majestic magnanimity but now seems like complete cheap-ass-ed-ness, to coin a word. To my immense surprise, she agreed.
This song was a poor thanks for her generosity and kindness, but not to worry; as I recall, I covered dinner, too. Other guys just feed you lines, but I take you to Mickey D's!
