This Week's Klockau Lust Object: '76 Seville
Everything's so green!
It’s no secret I love the original “international size” Cadillac Seville, made from 1976 to 1979. They still look modern to me, clean, attractive, an American Rolls Silver Shadow.
And I especially love the original ‘76, with that subtle yet oh so Cadillac eggcrate grille. Come ‘77 a taller, vertical bar grille with a prominent header took its place, and while I like that too, I like the ‘76 nose better.
And I love green. So you can imagine my response when I saw this if not showroom new, still very nice example with the optional wire wheel covers and resplendent in Greenbrier Firemist, on Marketplace, for $6500.
As the ad relayed, “1976 Cadillac Seville with 41,516 miles on the dash. Lots of new parts to include radiator, hoses, water pump, fuel tank, fuel pump, all new shocks, new tires, ac compressor with r134a conversion, receiver dryer, spark plugs, and fluid changes.
“Has aftermarket Aces fuel injection. Everything works!!! Retro radio and upgraded led headlights. Solid car with no rot underneath. The leather interior is almost perfect.
“Lots of other parts new. Turn key, ready to drive as is. Paint is pretty good for being 50 years old.
“Priced at 6500.00 plus tax and registration fees. Contact Big Johnsons Auto LLC 608 343 nine3six7 located in Camp Douglas, WI.”
I think it would look really good next to a certain red-on-red 1990 Lexus LS400, but that’s just me!
