The Korina Collection

Korina is African white limba finished a certain way. It was first used in guitars by Gibson in the late Fifties. Gibson wanted a "white wood" with the properties of mahogany. Of course, deforestation and all that jazz has taken a heavy toll on the relatively rare white limba in the fifty-five years since.
From 2011 to 2012, G&L's custom shop built four special guitars in Korina and called them, imaginatively enough, the Korina Collection. One hundred units of each model were built. I fell in love with the ASAT Junior Korina in Tennessee last year and in the eight months since I've assembled this collection.
The bass was the last to arrive. I'm totally ripping (the first five bars) of Teen Town on it. They're lovely instruments, made to close tolerances, and they're all a delight to play. Stop by and try them out some time.
The "Distorion" painting was recently finished by my friend Ryan. It replaces a Jeremiah Ketner print that has become unpopular in my house, and that's all I'm going to say about that.
