I'm neither a musician nor a guitarist. Sounds like you'll be selling that custom bass you both have outgrown. "Isn't she lovely?" will be in the description.
"The rules are simple: It should be an instrument or amplifier or other musical item you own"
please enjoy my hapless fake stratocaster that ive never played before then (if i ever get around to painting it miata red becuase i still have some left over)
"the 100% custom-made 2022 Goatrock Submariner!"
wild name for a wild guitar

I've got a cheap 8in tube amp sitting on a 2025 McLaren indycar bell housing for an amp stand. I play two project mini-strats that I bought at goodwill through it to backing tracks in my basement. I used to just make noise, now I've upgraded my skills to "plays music poorly." It's great fun.
Also I just bought an 87 Supra turbo automatic from my aunt in Iowa for $5k and drove it back to Minnesota without issues. Rough paint, but no rust, 124k miles and a mint interior. She bought it new in 87, so I'm excited to keep it in the family.
Dark Blue Pearl says the monroney. I've got a lot to learn about how to maintain old paint. I've never seen so many swirl marks. I don't think a touchless car wash exists within the entire state.
I gotta say it's been great watching you guys jam on camera together over the years. Apart from the guy in Thievery Corporation, the Commander is my favorite bassist.
Jack, your performance with the Commander is, shall we say, "arresting."
While I have no similar presentation, I do have a story:
In 1955, when I turned 21, I took my first legal drink at a neighborhood bar called The Mint. It was on West Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles. Sixty-seven years later, our oldest grandson, on sax, played The Mint with his high school jazz band.
How's that for what goes around comes around?
P.S. The Mint, it is alleged, was also a spot favored by Charles Bukowski, noted L.A. author and alcoholic.
5.16.26 Another shout out to Jack who got me reinstated again after being locked out for a week .
Why does substack hate me so ? .
I love music but unlike everyone else in my family I can't carry a tune in a bucket so I shared ths with them, not impressed as I was I guess as not a single reply .
I like the link to you and John playing =8-) .
Music, IMO, is a window into one's soul .
May John continue to love playing music the rest of his life .
What an utterly gorgeous instrument! Rest in peace Harambe 🙏

We would sell or trade it, yeah.
Might have a deal for you, if the FB marketplace rando doesn't buy my JB-75...
NO DEAL
Although I am a little richer now, and would like another short scale. Wait, I'm still jobless....sigh
Workin on it!
Awesome! Thanks for that!

what does this mean?
great clip at the end lol
"It doesn't have a lot of natural tone..." No electric instrument, guitar, bass or otherwise has a "natural" tone.
Damn you two! Noice! 😎

The 1987 Supra Turbo is one of my personal dream cars. Tell me it's the "Great White Shark" one!

I wouldn’t stand a chance here. I can’t tell the difference between the sound of any of these. Maybe the Gibson a little bit…

That is a completely rational preference, as long as you mean the fellow who was with the band a long time as opposed to the touring player!
Yes! Hash Vyas is such a cool guy. He’s the funkiest Indian ever.
The Goatrock is gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
The Silver Sky is a fine guitar, but an S-type will never look right with a PRS headstock.
Looks wrong, sounds right!
That was a rejected title for a live Motorhead album.
I’m not a musician, and don’t know fuck all about guitars, but I can appreciate some beautiful craftsmanship when I see it. That is a piece of art.

What a wonderful thing that the Mint is still around! Most of the venues I've been to in NYC closed during COVID and never re opened.
