If you can find a leftover 2024 4runner some of them came with a 3rd row. They’ll tow 5k. Or just find the newest previous gen GX and you’ll be very happy.
Yes, this spring we were in the market for a new 3 row mid-size that can tow 5k+ lbs that had a V-6 (my requirements) she would accept green or white exterior color but only medium brown interior, not beige and not chocolate dark brown. Also, she will not drive a full size SUV. There are very few vehicles that fit these criteria.
The CTS with the 3.6 are nice and the 3.6 has been a worthwhile power plant. Tom you should have Brian keep an eye out for a CT-6 with the 3.6 they are a little nicer then the CTS and most are all wheel drive.
I did not like the CT6 when I first saw it at the Chicago Auto Show when it first came out, but I love the few I’ve seen on the road. I’ve maybe seen 5 over the years.
I’ll be honest though, GM cars that were sold in limited amounts kind of scare me for parts availability down the road as I tend to hold my cars a long time.
Ataraxis, true limited production GM is always a parts availability issue. The CT-6 to avoid for that reason is the CT-6 Blackwing only 750 built, all though it is an absolute killer model. The CT-6 with the 3.6 should not be as big an issue as Cadillac used the 3.6 across a huge number of models. The Cadillacs to avoid are the turbo charged four banger as it’s not enough motor for the car.
Ataraxis, I like the 2019-2020 (mild facelift) over the 2016-2018. The Luxury Package has most options people want. In 19-20 they offered a Sport Package that stiffened up the already taught suspension. Just my two cents worth. Oh on the used market be sure to check the car fax as a lot of these cars were used for Black Car Service as Cadillac discontinued the XTS with the Livery Package.
I have a 14 coupe with 109k, and no real signs of wear any where other than some cracks in the leather on the side of the driver's seat (mental note. Get that fixed before it gets worse). Love everything about the car, including the V6. I also appreciate it was before CUE. Son had an ATS with CUE and it was terrible.
Yes, the 2018-19 are the better choices. Though I don’t like the body styling changes, there is actually a lot of El Miraj in the earlier style, (every once in a while you walk up to it and it grabs you), they did a lot of worthwhile tweaks for the final years. And Red Passion Tintcoat is a stunning colour.
I'd enjoy driving an XTS, the fancier the better -- although I'd probably have less to complain about maintenance-and-repair-wise if I skipped the twin turbo.
If actually recommend staying in the Luxury trim. Yes, you lose some of the higher quality leather, and a half a dozen Bose speakers, but you gain the advantage of having normal suspension.
klockau out here swagged tf out with the salmon coloured pants
on topic that thing looks way too rough for those years and that mileage
Is anyone else just SICK of black interiors?
My G70 has a cream leather interior. It is utterly gorgeous and also utterly annoying to keep clean.
That’s tough. What did you get?

Is anyone not?
There is a red 3rd gen in my town down the street from the in-laws that looks SHARP. I can't remember if it's a 4 cyl which makes it moot.
I occasionally miss my 2010 CTS Wagon with the 3.6. You sure didn't see any others.
Beware the 3.6. It's not necessarily a bad motor, but does not tolerate deferred maintenance. Be sure it's had 5k oil changes.

That’s good to know.
Which year and trim level of the CT6 do you like?

I saw one yesterday with a Landau top. Talk about Broughmage.

I’m at about 115k on my XTS, and I can’t say that I see any visual wear on the inside. All the materials seem of good quality.
If the right 2018-19 XTS came in, I'd strongly consider it. Lovely cars. I drove several new.

I have seen exactly one XTS Twin Turbo in my life.
What a weird car. Can't have made more than a couple thousand of them over the years.
Totally weird car, but I'd really dig a Platinum with that engine. I'm pretty sure they cost as much as a base LS460 when they came out.
My God, this is the one! 53,000 miles and one owner.

My god the 2018 in Nevada has twice the miles my G70 did when I bought it and still costs more!
That is actually a pretty shocking residual for such a car!
That 2015 does seem like a very nice way to spend $20k. I can only imagine the maintenance on them is... unpleasant though.
