A couple years ago I saw that someone made a 1/18 diecast of arguably the last true Cadillac, the 1993-96 Fleetwood Brougham.
I really wanted one, but it seemed no model shops had them. And there were a couple different ones, one ‘sealed’ with no cool opening features.
I wanted the super detailed one. Well cut to the chase, I finally got one thru ebay, and I love it.
It wasn’t cheap, but I had some birthday money still, and decided it was time. This thing is amazing. All four doors, hood and trunk open.
It has felt for carpeting, even on the door panels, and the seats are actually leather. The trunk is carpeted too.
The only decision was what color. It came in triple Carmine like this, triple dark blue, triple black and white with white top and tan interior. I’m happy with my choice, though I liked the blue one almost as much.
It shipped straight from China, but I felt I had an extra measure of security going thru ebay.
Before I took the plunge both my brother and sister said they’ve ordered stuff straight from China before and never had issues…it just took a long time sometimes.
But my lust for obtaining one ultimately overrode any lingering concerns. So I crossed my fingers, held my breath and pressed 'order.’
And waited to see if it would arrive. Or not.
But surprisingly it came less than three weeks after I ordered it. I love that someone did a detailed model of these, the last truly Broughamtastic Cadillac, unapologetically huge and luxy!
I’m still tempted to get the dark blue version. And if they do one in Calypso Green with green top and tan interior, I won’t be able to resist!
triple carmine is so hot
I want to love this gen of Fleetwood. But I drove them a lot when they were new, back to back with a 91 Sedan de Ville, and the SdV was just a dramatically better car. But the Fleetwood looked so good. Absolutely regal.
