I’ve really been happy with the new diecast coming out these past few years. After decades of 1969 Camaros, 1957 Bel Airs, 1955 T-Birds and Mustangs, Mustangs, Mustangs, now we have a wide variety of interesting cars for those who love Broughamage.
Just among the latest diecast models, there have been a 1976 Eldorado convertible and 1974 Ford Thunderbird. And even more recently, Matchbox released a 1992 Buick Roadmaster in their slightly pricier “Moving Parts” series.
I had to have one. And haunted the local Targets and Walmarts for months—with no result. But finally, FINALLY, I found one at a Target just a couple miles from home, and was thrilled.
For two and a half bucks you get a nicely detailed car with opening doors, woodgrained sides and even a sleeping dog in the “way back” rear-facing third row seat.
Likely a nod to the 1967-68 Mercury Commuter that Lesney released before your author was born.
I also love that they chose a navy blue interior instead of the so-boring black interior. I didn’t even notice it was blue until I broke it out of the package.
At any rate, it’s a great addition and I highly recommend it. And am looking forward to future releases in different colors.
Burgundy with burgundy interior or jade green with tan interior would be nice!
I have two of these in the lt1 flavor.
White/tan 95
Tan/tan 94
I love em
Nice find Tom! Almost bought a full-sized '91 Roadmaster Estate once upon a time(with the blue Medici velour whorehouse-carpet interior, none the less). Hope you enjoy yours. :)
