"Daddy, There's Nothing Funny About That Movie"
My son's been playing a lot of Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 on my GameCube lately. I don't remember why I brought it up out of the basement but it doesn't really matter because he's obsessed with the game and there's no chance of putting it away any time soon.
The funny thing is that he doesn't actually play the game. He just builds skateparks in the level builder then asks me to do the test rides. He's come up with some fairly complex designs. When he asked me what real skateparks look like, I brought up a few videos. The first one was the old S&M Video #4:
The second one was the infamous Little Devil Criminal Mischief video. I made him watch the opening twice. He couldn't understand why I was laughing. "Daddy, they're driving cars into stuff. There's nothing funny about that." Then he asked to return to the level builder in his game. "There are no dumb cars in that game."
Well, he has a point. In the meantime, return in time with me and enjoy the opening of Criminal Mischief. Simpler, better times. Ah, who am I kidding? Those times sucked. We didn't have XHamster or the Lamborghini Huracan or Betabrand cobra socks.
