Brothers Gonna Work It Out

It's been a long day, but it looks like Bark M. and I have qualified somewhere between third and fifth (of 31) for AER's Saturday race at Watkins Glen.

We're running a GM 3800-powered Mazda RX-7 that usually competes in NASA Performance Touring D. Our third driver, car owner Matt Johnston, qualified us with a 2:24; I ran a 2:25 in a three-lap qualifying session and Bark is looking good at a low 2:27. There's more time in the car but we'd rather keep wear off our tires.
Bark pointed out that racing at the Glen is somehow very different from racing at a "country club" track like NJMP or MSR. I have to agree; when I take the green flag tomorrow I'll be able to add another "major" track to the list of historically significant tracks at which I've actually raced and not just run open-lapping. To say that we're stoked is an understatement. Wish us luck in tomorrow's race --- we'll need it!
