Brief Race Recap, The Ocean, The Impaladventure

Last weekend I was in Texas for the inaugural season of the World Racing League and what is probably the final season for Texas World Speedway, driving the Property Devaluation T-Bird (pictured). It was plenty fast but we had some issues with drivers crashing into other people and whatnot, and mechanical failures in the Bird's team twin, a Granada, so of the four checkered flags we could have seen (2 races, 2 cars), we saw one. Still, I was satisfied with my stint, and I had a good time at the Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.
After that, I visited the Omphoy in Palm Beach for four days of self-administered psychotherapy, which went very, very well. Visited friends in Vero Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. Saw the house in which my mother grew up, across the bridge in Lake Worth. Got some stuff written.
This week I'm driving a 1981 Impala across the country (half of it, anyway) for a friend, then attending a press preview in the South. I expect to have driven over three thousand miles by the time Saturday morning arrives. We'll see how it goes!
