For Day Two of our tour through the samizdat, we are going to venture towards the sentimental. These are pieces of which my various corporate bosses disapproved, not necessarily due to any easily describable qualities but more out of sheer nervousness. We live in an era where sincerity and earnestness are the figure on a ground of assumed cynicism, so perhaps it’s just the raw sentimentality that put them off. Anyway. Having already received one explicit request from a former female friend to be “left out of your Substack”, I am rather hurriedly tossing a few things into the hopper before I get that same request from others.
Oh, and there’s the article on child porn I was told to take down because it was too controversial. For the record, my “controversial” stance is, and remains: I don’t like child porn.
