I really love the 54-56 Cadillacs. Last year Jayson saw a 55 Coupe de Ville at a show, navy blue with bright red leather interior. Restored to factory stock. It was superb.
Oh man does this car bring back a memory. About 10 years ago there was a lady in my hometown (Loma Linda, CA at the time) who daily drove a pristine white on white 1971. I saw it around town often, but one day I pulled up at the light in the 1988 M3, my Borla muffler purring at idle caused her to look my way. She was in her 80s I'd guess with a perfectly coiffed 1060s bob hairdo. After I gave her a big smile and a thumbs up, she grinned and nodded at me. My car couldn't be more different than hers, but that moment of car enthusiast connection stuck in my memory.
A couple years later it was out in front of a church with a for sale sign at $5000. I actually went in to ask about it...it was donated, the lady was no longer able to drive. But the battery was flat when I went to start it. It was a busy time in my life, so I didn't follow up on it. Looking back I wish I had.

As a kid, that stupid trunk bubble for the spare drove me nuts. A few decades later.... I kinda like it.
never been a fan of 70s boats but that coupe de ville can hang out in my driveway anytime
